2024 has been a unique year for Nightworks Studio. From unveiling new products to collaborating on extraordinary projects around the globe, it’s been a journey of growth. With new team members, an in-development production studio, and innovative ideas continuing to take shape, we’ve embraced every opportunity to celebrate the art of design.
Time moves quickly, but today, we pause to reflect on the moments that made the year truly special.
Out in Market
La~De~Da
Years in the making, launching La~De~Da was an incredible milestone for our team. Receiving Bronze at The Best Awards, a ‘Behind the Object’ feature with ArchitectureNow, and being named one of Yellowtrace’s Best Products of 2024 affirmed our dedication to creating something truly special.

La~De~Da Candle Holder
Our La~De~Da Candle Holders were a fantastic way to close the year (and made for excellent Christmas gifts). Locally hand-cast in Christchurch and inspired by our award-winning pendant, they’re a beautiful embodiment of craftsmanship, available in zinc, bronze, and soon, brass.
(Some of) Our Favourite Projects
Redcliffs Residence
⚲ Christchurch, New Zealand
A seaside sanctuary, this project’s custom 5-metre Code Cascade Pendant exemplifies what we love most—freedom to create without restraint.
Plateau Project
⚲ Sydney, Australia
A fashion photographer’s dream home, blending warm textures with a tactile palette. Our Code Delta Kilo pendant and Duomo Piccolo Wall Sconces perfectly frame this serene retreat.
Cāntīng
⚲ Auckland, New Zealand
Modern Asian innovation meets traditional Chinese cuisine. Featuring our La~De~Da in Ember Red, The Shuijing Room at Cāntīng has an uninterrupted tree-lined view of the harbour and Quay Street below.
Carmélites
⚲ Brussels, Belgium
This classic Brussels home blends natural light and fluidity, with our Tasman Double Pendant providing the perfect complement to the space’s design philosophy.
On the Road
Melbourne and Sydney Guides
With our strong ties to Australia, any opportunity to cross the ditch is special. Harriet, our Sales Account Manager, collaborated with ArchitectureNow on a guide to Melbourne and with Indesign Live for Sydney. Her curated recommendations showcase the best of both cities.

Visiting Ōamaru Stone
Ōamaru Stone is truly one of a kind. During our visit to this Otago quarry, we explored the materiality possibilities of this unique resource, inspiring ideas for future projects.
Alec Farrar Foundry
Watching our La~De~Da Candle Holders take shape at Alec Farrar Foundry is pure magic. The transformation from molten metal to a finished piece is a mesmerizing process—one we’re excited to share through the video below.

We believe great design deserves a great soundtrack. Our team curated two playlists this year for spring and summer. Ideal companions for sunny days. Give them a listen!

Objectspace Sponsorship
We’re fortunate to have Objectspace—a gallery celebrating architecture, craft, and design—right across the river in Christchurch. Supporting their work as a sponsor feels like a natural extension of our mission to elevate design in all its forms.
